TEAM Ministry

Category: General Announcement — Mike Koestler @ 7:54 pm

TEAM ministry meeting was held on Friday, March 30 in Belle Plaine. School counselors will meet again in June. The purpose of the TEAM minsitry program is to assist the ministry team to focus on the God appointed mission of the school, care for each of its members, assist a school ministry team to improve and grow professionally, and train the whole child. Kurk Kramer is our school counselor. The counselor reports to CPS under a number of categories. I have copied the page and posted it in the workroom.

Terra Nova

Category: General Announcement — Mike Koestler @ 7:49 pm

As I shared in faculty meeting on Wednesday, I plan on ordering Terra Nova again for next year. Rationale is that the principals’ conference would like to see the direction CPS is going to take now that Terra Nova contract is up for renewal, PLS and SPL will not be sharing resources (physical and financial) to accomplish the MAPS testing goal, the number of students to test will not be a reasonable number for the school district to schedule given their tight testing timelines at this late date, and we do not wish to be found without a testing contract going into next year. We will continue to search for ways to make this work.

In-Service notes

Category: General Announcement — Mike Koestler @ 4:26 pm

Grades 5-8 will meet in the lecture room. 5-8 please read through the article “Making sure that assessment improves performance”

The three key questions we will look to address in this segment of the assessment workshop package are:

  1. What are the key practices of using assessment to improve student performance?
  2. How does St. Paul’s implement these practices?
  3. How are these practices reflected in constructed-response items and academic prompts?
