God Has Given You Gifts

The Myth of More

I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. In all this my wisdom stayed with me. 10 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;  I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my labor, and this was the reward for all my toil. 11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun….

Jesus Offers True Rest

"The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. ” Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” ” So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.” But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them.” When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.

Jesus Saves

Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman

21 When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. 22 Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet. 23 He pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” 24 So Jesus went with him.

Are You Growing?

Remember as a child how excited you got when you grew an inch or two? Maybe you had a doorway in your home where your height would be etched into the wood along with your initials and the date. And then every so often a new mark would be made and you’d look at the progress. Remember how happy you were to see how much you had grown?
